Factors Influencing Migration of Senior High School Students Within the University

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the factors influencing the migration of Senior High School students within the University during the SY 2024-2025 in terms of school policies, school facilities and faculty qualification. Additionally, this study aimed to find out whether significant difference exist in the following areas when the respondents are grouped and compared according to variables of sex, average monthly family income, strand and course.  This study used a descriptive research design to describe what is known about the many factors indicated here and to gather information about all the areas cited. The study's findings indicate that the following areas—university policies and facilities—have a significant impact on SHS students' migration, with data showing "high" outcomes. According to variables, comparative analysis showed no discernible variation in the extent to which factors influenced respondents' movement in the area of university facilities. There is no discernible difference in average family monthly income or strand, yet there is a considerable difference in university policy according on sex. Furthermore, while there is no discernible difference in terms of sex, average family monthly income, or course, there is a considerable difference in terms of faculty qualification between Academic and TVL. Based on the results, it was suggested that the university strengthen facilities maintenance with additional staff and resources, improve communication channels for student issues, and consistently enforce attendance requirements. Furthermore, holding seminars that incorporate student viewpoints can improve the rapport between teachers and students and create a more stimulating and encouraging learning environment.
